Words of Encouragement

Word of encouragement:

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Jeremiah : 29:11

This scripture is often used to encourage or give people hope during their time of suffering and/or grief.  When times are good or bad, we must remember that God has plans.  Nothing happens that surprises him nor catches him off guard.  God is a very strategic creator.  When talking to Jeremiah, the father wanted Jeremiah to understand that even before his birth there were already intentions for his life.  God has intentions for us all. On today just remember that God has plans.  He has a method for our lives.  Even when we are hurting, when we are feeling discouraged, or when we are suffering, the fact that God has plans does not change.  His plans are not based on what we feel, how we see ourselves, or how others see us.  They are based on his love for us.  Be encouraged and know that God has a plan for you!

Word of Encouragement:

“Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.

Trust ye in the Lord forever: for in the Lord Jehovah is everlasting strength:”  Isaiah 26:3-4

To be in a state of peace equates to being in a state of calmness without disturbance.  We often allow our situations to determine our peace when in actuality God desires for us to have peace regardless of the situation.  Our peace should be found in him and it is our personal responsibility to ensure that we take the necessary actions to have peace in our lives.  By spending time in prayer, devotion, and worship we can take the steps towards walking in peace even in the most difficult situations.  When we keep our minds on God and trust in him and his plans for our lives, we can walk in unexplainable peace even when things are hectic around us.  When walking in this type of peace we will have the strength to walk away or distance ourselves from situations and/or relationships that are unhealthy and cause an unnecessary disturbance of our peace.  God desires for us to have peace in our hearts and in our minds.  Through him, we have the strength to face every situation that may arise while still walking and living in peace.

 Word for Encouragement:

“The Lord is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit.” Psalms 34:18

Most of us have gone through situations that have resulted in a broken heart.  I will never forget how broken and forsaken I felt after my husband and I lost our twin daughters.  I could not comprehend how something that began as one of the most joyful times in our lives ended up being the most devastating.  I will never forget reading the above scripture and finding immediate comfort.  It is important for us to be reminded that even when it feels like we are alone, because our hearts have been broken into pieces, we are not.  Actually, it is during that time that God promises to draw closer to us.  During our moments of distress God is there to give us comfort, peace, and restoration.  When we are sorrowful, regretful, ashamed, and are crushed in spirit, he has vowed to save us.  He has provided us consolation through his spirit.  In any and every situation God is there.

Word of Encouragement:

“Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.”  I Corinthians 15:58

In this world of unexpected tragedies, constant issues, and unexplainable pain, it is easy to lose sight of what we are believing God for.  In the midst of everything, we must try to maintain our focus and to be constant and consistent in our faith.  When we are steadfast we are firm, loyal, and dedicated to what we believe and who we believe in.  God desires for us to be unwavering in our faith in Him.  To know that our faith is not based on circumstances but based on our belief and trust in Him.  We must remember that circumstances change but God never changes.  As we continue to navigate this life we must continue to do the work God has called us to do even in the mist of uncomfortable situations.  God has promised that our work will not be in vain and even if we cannot see it now, one day we will.  God is not a liar and what He says will come to pass.  Remember, never lose your faith.
